Although this is not something we necessarily invented, we have however applied this design feature enough times in our custom designs that it has quietly become somewhat of a signature design element for us. The friends and family entry as we like to call it, allows for a more comfortable area to enter a home, when the front door is located away from the parking court. Traditionally, homes with a side loaded garage only allowed entry from the side of the home either through a garage or utility area. Guests arriving at the home were forced to walk through the garage or walk around to the font door. The friends and family entrance is a semi-formal entry that provides clutter free access to the home from the parking court, solving the problem of through the garage, utility room entry.
